While my sister, Jenny, and I were young, my mother kept a journal to remember the silly or cute things we said.  We came to know and refer to said journal profoundly as, “The Book.”

“Oh, that’s one for ‘The Book’!” we’d say following a silly situation as we grew old enough to appreciate the fun memories therein.

Soon after our eldest daughter, Ainsley, began speaking, Mom gave us a very special gift… a blank “Book” of our own to record the silly and cute things that our kids would say.

Living so far from my family, I often shoot off quick emails chronicling such entertaining episodes.  Recently, I realized that it might just be easier to maintain and share them in a running blog. (Also available as an RSS feed, FYI!) Granted, we realize that some of the humor/significance of these accounts may be effectively lost in (cyber)translation.
